I searched for Han Kang’s writings and discovered that she delved into profound themes like identity, trauma, and the complexities of society. Her most famous novel, The Vegetarian, follows Yeong-hye, a woman who stops eating meat, leading to significant reactions from her family and society. This book won the International Booker Prize in 2016, which helped introduce her to a broader audience.
I also found her other significant work, Human Acts, which reflects on the Gwangju Uprising. This novel explores the impact of political violence on individuals and how they cope with suffering and loss.
Through my search, I gained a deeper appreciation for Han Kang’s unique perspective and her ability to tackle complex themes in contemporary literature. Her works encourage readers to think critically about society and personal experiences
