Formula 1 Big Money fine in Austin’s Grand Pix

At the end of the race at the Austin track 200 fans invaded the strat-finish line. The cars were still in the cool-down lap when it occurred. The Federation Internationale L´Automobile (FIA) fined COTA the event organizer 500,000 euros. The reason they got fined was the inability to take control of the situation putting in risk drivers and fan’s safety. 

The good news for COTA is that the big fine will be paid in parts, the first 150,000 euros. The remaining 350,000 thousand euros can be paid until 2026. This leaves them with time and a manner to get the money and improve, as well as follow the safety protocols and F1 race needs.
